I’ve just launched a new cooking/recipe site that I’m hoping to shortly enable user generated content on! Will add it to the portfolio section soon, but please check it out and let me know if you have any feedback (positive and negative are both welcome!).
For Love or Munny
Terrarium Gallery in Wollongong is hosting a custom Munny exhibition starting on Thursday 19th July which will be running for a few weeks. It includes Kastner Creative’s recently completed Anubis Munny!
Sponsored by Kidrobot and Munny World the event will include toys from over 20 artists from Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
Present Pod website has been launched
After a few weeks of fairly involved user interface design work – the Present Pod website first release has been launched.
Kastner Creative was approached to do all of the user experience design which included a lot of CSS, jQuery, HTML and some Python coding to produce the final product. The site includes both an app which is hosted on Google App Engine, and a WordPress site which is skinned identically to host all the static pages and the blog.
It’s basically a wishlist site, where you can track all of your wanted items, cool finds and then distribute it to your social media network, friends, family… etc. so that people know what cool stuff to buy you! There is a lot of functionality still to come… so stay tuned.
All you need to access it and make use it is a Facebook account (we may look at expanding that in the future to include other networks)…. and it’s free! So go on, log in – have a play around and send us some feedback using the form that’s on the left hand side of every page… we’ll take all suggestions on board for future releases.
Game for Change
Just launched a new website for Melbourne based iPhone game developer The Apptivist Studio. It’ll get added to the portfolio section in the next few days.
It’s a really great business run be an even greater guy, and more than half of the profit that is made from the game (after tax and the Apple App Store) will be going to charities (such as Sea Shepherd in the instance of his first game).
The Munny exhibtion at Villain is now over
My three entries into the Do Me! Munny exhibition at Villain have now been taken down. Thanks to everyone who went there and had a look at them. I won a Mini-Munny, so will have to find some time soon and make yet another toy. Stay tuned!
‘Do Me! Munny’ show at Villain
I managed to get down to QV and have a look at the window exhibition at Villain today… They put the call out to the general public to submit custom Munny toys a couple of months ago and the exhibition went up about a week or two back. It was pretty exciting to see three of my toys up in the window, thought they looked really good and the display was really well lit. Check out a few photos I took of it above.
Looking forward to the next show they have, apparently it’ll be a proper exhibition (their last one attracted over 80 artists!).
Do Me! Munny show @ Villain
I entered a few custom toys into Villain‘s Do Me! Munny show which started earlier this month. They should be there for another week or two, so if you’re in Melbourne and looking for something to do – then head to their shop in QV (Jane Bell Lane) and have a look at the window display. I’m still yet to make it there myself but I plan on getting there this week some time with my camera and will put up some photos then.
The toys that you can find there are the Birdman, the Yak, and the Zebra.
